Great progress is being made in the construction of the massive new Waterbury state office complex, which will include a major conference area, to be named in honor of Sally. The conference center will consist of three large meeting rooms accommodating close to 200 people and will have large windows overlooking the foothills of Camel’s Hump throughout. Our family has commissioned one of Sally’s favorite Vermont artists, Katherine Montstream, to do a triptych of one of Sally’s favorite views – the horizon and sky over Shelburne Bay- to be hung in the heart of the conference center. Katherine and I visited this morning to the site, donned our hard hats and were actually able to tour the 2nd floor overlook where the center and paintings will be located. Finding the proper wall space for a work of art of this magnitude is no easy challenge and we are working closely with the architect and the State to dovetail the conference space with the paintings. All indications are that it will be spectacular. Sally would be so happy. Will keep you posted.
