Senator Sirotkin was honored to be part of the ribbon cutting for the new $30 million state of the art Vermont State Health Laboratory with the Governor and several other state officials and legislators (see photos with Sen. Mazza and very happy AHS Secretary Harry Chen). Senator Sirotkin serves on the Senate Institutions Committee which appropriates the funds for all state capital construction projects and was happy to see the facility come in on time and under budget. “This project is clearly first rate and is made even better as it actually physically connects with the UVM research lab, allowing the state and university to collaborate on many facets of public health. “ Vermont goes from having the oldest state lab in the country to the newest. We all have reason to be proud, including many of the 50 state employees who were on hand for the ceremony and who will happily be moving into this beautiful new Colchester facility as early as next month.
